- We need to stop the Federal Government from stopping Doctors writing pain meds... they the Feds are causing people to murder and steal. Can u direct me to a website that has something that will help the cause. they the feds cause alot of problems with their "so called" narcotic control. People need these and they should leave doctors alone!

- Propoxyphene HCL (Hydrochloride) 65 Mg is among the various names for Darvon, Darvocet Compound etc. The primary difference is that Propoxyphene HCL 65 Mg contains no additives sucah as aspirin, acetaminophen,or any NSAIDS.
- During the early 1990's I suffered from chronic pain and my then family Dr. and I began an experimentation process to find out what medication could be prescribed for me on a therapeutic (long term) basis. All opiates have disadvantages for which dependency is but one.
- Propoxyphene HCL 65 Mg has exactly the same strength as Darvon Napsylate 100 Mg.
- As my Dr and I tried a few different medications including Hydrocodone, Oxycotin, Percocet, Vicodin and Percodan it became very quickly apparent that Propoxyphen HCL 65 Mg was a very innocuous medication and it's chemical makeup suited my particular chemistry like a glove. I enjoyed relief from the chronic pain to a manageable degree. This all started in the early 1990's. I have taken Propoxyphene Hcl 65Mg on a daily basis for more than 20 years with absolutely no ill affects as determined by numerous exams specifically looking for problems this medication was thought to contribute to in the human body under controlled tests.
- Less than a week ago I was informed that effective immediately the FDA was pulling all Propoxyphene and Darvon elated prescriptions off the market.
- I am so intimately familiar with this medication that I can accurately predict exactly what will happen to me physically and emotionally when I suddenly stop a prescription medication taken consistently for a quarter century.
- Now its back to the drawing board to find a medication as innocuous as Propoxyphe HCL 65 Mg that is likely not to be pulled by the FDA. Upon first glance it looks like Oxycodone at a relatively low doze of just 5 Mg. It will be a test of modern medicine as well as an onslaught to my particular physiology and after so many years the psychological effects I can expect to experience.
- I feel hat it is unfortunate that every human physiology is being lumped into one basket with the same standards for all.
- I can deal with whatever physical withdwaral might arise but the psychological aspect of overnight stopping a 20 plus year regimen will have detrimental affects. My Dr. and I have agreed upon Hydrocodone 05 Mg 3 times a day - for now. I know my body and I already now that such a low dose will have no affect on me whatsoever.
- I will not take large doses of hard narcotics on a therapeutic basis as years of VA Medical history has shown but I am sincerely concerned about finding anything to equal that which I have come to know as a daily part of my life since my oldest child was an infant.I cannot help but wonder how many medications are in use this date that in only a short time will follow the extinction of Propoxyphene. Hcl 65 Mg? How many medications right now are being prescribed that do far ore harm than goo.

- I am currently taking 2 1o mg of hydrocodone at a time and sometimes this doesn't even control my upper and lover back pain. My Doctor has discussed going to Percocet. What would be a good dosage to go to from here?
