Well, people with an associate degree ca actually fair way better than those with a BA. It just depends. I know friends who have graduated, and have had little success with their bachelor's. It depends on the field. For instance, did you know that Pyschologists in youth counseling only make $44,000 a year. That is with your masters and/or Dr. degree. While OTA's( occupational therapy assistants ) make $17-18 an hour. Also, if you want to do home health care, $25 an hour. Look at Nuclear Techs, they can make $55,000 a year, that's with an associates. However, these are apllied sciences. Now, for a general associates degree, You can make management. However, it is probably only going to happen with experience included. Take for example, if you do an internship, and then get your A.A, that can put you in a direction of entry level management. A polysymnographer technician( or a sleep tech ) can make $35,000 to $49,000 a year. This figure is without a degree. You either need to do an internship or take classes at around 30 hours. this will get you accredited to take the Board Exam. After you pass this exam, and have attended an accredited facility, you can become a technician. This is all without any degree. You top that powder keg with any associates degree, and you can expect to be on the $49,000 end of that salary gap. Again this all depends on what your looking for. Also, any degree looks good if your trying to get a business loan. Also, a degree looks good if your trying to start a non-profit. However, for non-profits, especially those seeking grants, have to abide by strict guidelines. In most cases, in non-profs, you have to have many acredited people to sign on with you. Still, a degree can help. In my case, in viewing circumstances, it all depends on what your going for. You can get an associates in liberal studies, but unless you want to do an internship, or get experience under your belt, it's tough to get the, " Dream job". some pharmacutical companies look for reps, and some of those jobs only need an associates in science. Although, in that field, communication skills are a huge must!! You can have the paper, but if you can't speak the language, forget it..lol. So, i guess, an associate degree is what it is, an associate. Your not the main man, but your not the road runner either. You can get a quality job, and be apart of the team.
