- One answer calls a banana fattening. I would disagree. When compared to pizza, ice cream, fries, donuts, soda, chips and other staples of a junk food diet, a banana is incredibly healthy. Unprocessed foods are still full of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that help the body digest and use the sugars and fats that are naturally found in foods.
- We need sugar and fat to survive. Not the kind in junk food that we usually think of, but the natural sugars (complex carbs) that are found in whole foods like fruit, carrots, and grains and unsaturated fats found in fish, nuts, olive oil and avocados. Our brain needs these foods, especially growing children.
