The patriots didn't actually want taxation WITH representation; it was just another thing to lobby against the British government. Even with representation, the colonies would only have two or so representatives in Parliament, and that is not enough to do anything anyways.

Mostly everything was peaceful until the French and Indian war. After this war Britain ended up in great debt so they taxed the colonists and many many more events happened due to these tyaxes.

Britain just wanted their control. Like overbearing parents. But the rebellious teen-aged America wanted to prove their worth and independence, and decided to do something about it. The tax from the french/indian war was like a grounding sort of. But I wouldn't like being taxed for something I didn't even take any part in.

Do "Good" Americans kill people to keep from paying taxes?
Do you? Would you? I think not. Do you have the right to kill someone because they are treating you "unfairly?" Just thinking out loud.

All the answers given so far are good ones. I would add that the King was in the process of collecting arms and ammo that were stored in various locations. The import of ammo had been baned. So, time had reached the point that if we did not start the war soon, we would not have enough arms to defend ourselves. It was now (then) or never.

Now quess why we have a 2nd amendment and what it meant to Americans then and now?

There were many skirmishes between the british and the colonists. The british put a lot of taxes on the colonists and the colonists wanted to be independent.

the causes are that there was taxation w/o represtation in parliament, the french and idian war, and they wanted freedom.

Biased. And this coming from someone called "Redcoat-Mic".
It reads like bloody Star Wars.
The point that taxation was at an all time low is never mentioned, so the smugglers as a factor are thrown in casually at the end when they were a huge part of it.
The revolution wasn't just taken by the free and good American's against the evil, dictating British. Lets not forget that every country was run this way, it's all anyone knew.
