it's sad to read all of these ignorant answers. To the woman who is TRYING to get pregnant (Gina Connell) , DO try to not use the bathroom after sex. It worked for me the first time, so it's worth a shot.

Yes peeing certainly DOES affect your chances of becoming pregnant. When you pee, your muscles contract, so is the sperm being washed out of you? of course not. That's not how it works. The muscles contract and wind up pushing the semen out. Not all of it, but enough to matter. Before I got pregnant with my son, i would use the bathroom after sex almost every time. Then I decided to go with the whole NOT using the toilet idea right after sex. Sure enough I wound up getting pregnant soon after. Every woman is different but to say that peeing doesn't effect it at all is very wrong.

Urine comes out of the urethra, not the vagina. So no, peeing won't dislodge sperm because it doesn't go through the same passage.

Ok, not everyone asks this question for PREVENTION of pregnancy. My husband and I are TRYING to get pregnant. May be a stupid question, but we want to explore all information that we thought MIGHT prevent us from being able to conceive.

Really? Are people that dumb? Might as well perform a fake abortion on a voodoo doll of the possibly pregnant girl in question.

No. Peeing after sex will not make a difference. Like all these people are saying. There will still be sperm in your body.

I really and honestly do not think that peeing after sex will make a difference because the urthera and the vagina are two completely different parts of the body. Furthermore, It will not wash away the sperm, because once you've had unprotected sexual intercourse and the sperm is inside of the uterus, than their is no turning back. Once your pregnant your just pregnant. This is why I advise young teenaged girl to use condoms or birthcontrol pills. But, you know, what would probable work best and prevent these young girls from getting pregnant at a young age is to never have sex at all until your at least an adult or married. And it's called one thing..."Sexual abstinence"!
Please look it up! Thank-you.

Peeing after sex will make no difference for the woman. However, there is one case in which it the man peeing can help prevent pregnancy. That is if he ejaculated earlier (from sex or masturbation) there can still be some sperm left in his penis. Peeing between ejaculations eliminates it.
