I personally have learned this:

I pulled my credit report using myfico.com and learned that 3 credit cards that were with my ex-husband are showing up on my credit reports and effecting my score since he is at a high balance to available credit limit. I was only a A/U and did not think to get taken off or that it would affect my history, however after trying to get a car and being told my Beacon score was 475 and those were my only bumps on the credit report recent of 3 years and they had just reported for May's payment history I was effected.

I sent a letter and called each credit card company:

MBNA d/b/a Bank of America
Chase
Discover

and explained the situation and they are each sending me a letter as well as the credit bureaus. I am forwarding those letters to the reporting agencies with my dispute letter and hoping it gets taken off.

I will let you know.
