Actually, We Dutch kids celebrate Christmas on December 6th. It's not even called Christmas. We call it St. Nicholas Day. We put out our shoes the night before, and while we are asleep, Sinterklaas comes riding over over the rooftops on his white horse with Black Pete. Hope that helps!

Christmas traditions in Holland are different than in the US. St. Nicholas Day is celebrated on December 6th. Families celebrate St. Nicholas Eve at home and, after eating lots of good food, share gifts marked from Sinterklass. When the children go to bed, they set out their shoes by the fireplace. The shoes are filled with hay and carrots for Sinterklass' horse. The children then tell their parents if they have been well-behaved during the past year. In the morning, the shoes of well-behaved children are filled with nuts, candy, and other surprises.
