Funeral services conducted by Jehovah's Witnesses do not include rituals intended to appease the dead. A Bible talk is given either at the Kingdom Hall, at the funeral parlor, at the home of the deceased, or at the graveside. The talk will highlight the deceased person's life, accomplishments in their ministry, whatever dying thoughts or expressions they may have left behind, and their hope that they had because of their faith in God and his son, Jesus. The purpose of the talk is to comfort the bereaved by explaining what The Bible says about death and the hope of a resurrection. (John 11:25; Romans 5:12; 2 Peter 3:13) Rather than being an overly mournful event, it is a time when family and friends can be reassurred of the time when the Bible promises that, thanks to the ransom sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the dead will be raised, and they will see their loved one again. (John 5:28,29) A song based on the Scriptures may be sung, and the service is concluded with a comforting prayer. All JW funerals are dignified and Bible based.

FURTHERyes, we do have funerals. but as was said before, no rituals to appease the dead is done. due to these traditions having usually a spiristic nature. AlsoThe only thing is that a non JW cant have the funeral at the Kingdom hall Ex- My dad was not a JW and didnt really belong to any denomination yet respectful of our beliefs, but we, the rest of the family is so the funeral was conducted on the cemetery grounds similarly to how a JW's funeral would be. All based on the bible, conducted by an elder who knew our family well.

The funeral will resemble a normal Sunday public talk at a meeting of Jehovah's Witnesses.

There will be no ceremonial rites or anything like that. JW's do not believe in doing things to appease the dead, such as wakes, and the like.

The funeral will include a talk about the life of the deceased, the beliefs of the deceased, and the Bible's hope for ressurrection. In fact, the Bible will be guide for the talk. The talk will be preceded and followed by a song and prayer. The manin emphasis on the precedngs will be to comfort the grieving ones.

The real deal:

A Jehovah's Witness funeral service is led by a Jehovah's Witness elder and is seen as mainly an opportunity to preach the message of the Jehovah's Witnesses, namely, destruction of the current 'world system of things' at a bloody Armageddon (previously 'suggested' by the Watchtower, Bible and Tract Society to be imminent in 1914, 1925 and 1975). Members are taught that 'Jehovah God' will destroy all those he deems unfit to live forever in his new 'paradise earth'.

The elder may spend between 2-5 minutes of the approximately 30 minute service actually talking about the deceased and their life.

Jehovah's Witness funerals usually begin and end with a short prayer and have a short 30 minute discourse centered on the hope of the ressurection.

Our funerals are respectful occasions, but not overly mournful. We do mourn the loss of loved ones, but we firmly believe that one day soon, we will see our loved ones in a resurrection as promised by Jesus at John 5:28,29. We believe that this resurrection will be right here on earth in paradise conditions. (Psalms 37:10,11,29; Luke 23:43) We believe that the reason we grow old, get sick, and die is because of imperfection that we inherited from our first father Adam. (Romans 5:12) We believe that the dead are currently in an unconscious state, thus they could not be in a place of firey torment. (Ecclesiastes 9:5,10) Therefore, the funeral is not for the benefit of the loved one, who we believe is unconscious, in the grave, but rather it is to comfort the mourning ones, and provide reassurance to them that one day soon, they will see their loved ones again in a resurrection. (Acts 24:15) In JW funerals, the local laws are met with regard to burial of the body and there is usually a memorial talk given at the Kingdom Hall wher the person attended. The talk will highlight the person's life, especially with regard to their service to God. During this talk, special emphsis will be placed on the deceased person's hope that they had in God's Kingdom, and it's blessings for the earth, which includes the resurrection.(Matthew 6:9,10)

Probably like any other normal funeral. A short Bible talk; prayer; a song about the resurection hope we have.

We don't do 'wake' or other customs which mimic beliefs about the 'immortality of the soul'; as we believe that the soul is very 'mortal' - - proof being the funeral. The soul dies, is cremated or burried.

There are no special rites or rituals connected with Jehovah's Witness funerals. A short bible based discourse is usually followed by a burial or cremation. Flowers on or near the grave are usally accepted according to local custom.

They avoid all rites and rituals connected with what they view as biblical teachings such as appeasing the spirits of dead loved ones or praying for the souls of the deceased.

Jehovah's Witness funerals are dignified affairs free of ritual they are not unlike their usual public meetings in that they open and close with one song and a prayer.

A short bible based discourse of about 30 minutes is given by a local minister of Jehovah's Witness either at a Kingdom hall or another facility. At the end of the service individuals usually leave for the burial (or cremation).

Words of condolence are usually appropriatly addressed to friends and family of the desceased.

There is usually some gathering after the burial where food and refeshments are avaiable, which further gives friends the opportunity to offer support to the grieving.

Those in attendance are not expected to wear any special colour or garb. The body is not usually on display.
At a Jehovah's Witness funeral a Bible talk is given either in the Kingdom Hall, the graveside, or wherever the family deems fit. There aren't any type of rituals observed. A song may be sung, and there is a prayer given. It is important to note that the Bible talk is to comfort the decedent's family, and to enlighten people on the Bible's view of death.
