Yes and no. We don't have a ceremony tradition that we are required to adhere to, aside for that it must be done in a chapel. We have viewings, talks, and other things, but the way we treat the diseased is entirely up to us. Mormons are allowed to cremate a body, as well. Additional Information: There is no stipulation that Mormon funerals be held in a chapel. That is a strictly personal decision and left entirely up to the family. It is however, generally chosen, as it allows a large amount of friends and family to gather in a place that had significance either to the deceased or their family, or both. Mormons consider life a journey through mortality and death merely a stepping stone into the next stage of eternity. And of course, because Morman facilities do not charge their members for the use of the chapel, it makes an excellent place to hold the funeral at no charge, which can get excessive when using mortuary facilities. One tradition they do have is dressing the deceased in their white temple clothing if they held a temple recommend.
