When I worked as a nurse in Pediatrics we used ibuprofen for fevers. It would bring them down in a hurry.

The only way antibiotics would help reduce a fever is to fight the infection causing the fever - but only if it's an infection causing it. But the NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflamatory drugs), such as Ibuprofen, aspirin, etc., bring fever down by dilating the blood vessels, helping to release the heat.
