Yes, a cat can get a sore throat. I had a cat that developed laryngitis. His meow was a whisper. I took him to the vet and found that his throat was inflamed. An upper respiratory infection, but he had no other symptoms (no runny nose, eyes, etc.; just the inflamed throat). The vet gave him antibiotics and he was feeling better after a few days.
Yes, cats have 6 tonsils, aka adenoids. "In general, cats don't gag as often as dogs. The one exception is when an upcoming hair ball hits the throat. Cats will gag once or twice, then throw it up. Tonsillitis can also cause problems. "Cats have six tonsils, so imagine how it would feel if they were infected," says Margie Scherk, D.V.M., a veterinarian in private practice in Vancouver, British Columbia." http://home.ivillage.com/pets/symsolve/0,,ljxx,00.html Beware of photos in next link!!!!!!!! http://www.asiahomes.com/dogpix/9989cat4year_female_drooling_foul_breadth_Singapore.jpg

No, only cats get hairballs. You may have some hair you have inhaled from your pets that may give you a tickle in your throat and you may even cough. If your throat is sore or sinus' are bothering you it's possible you are allergic to pet dander (skin cells off your pet NOT the fur.)
Cats, Rats, dogs, and mice can all carry strep throat.
No, I don't think so. At least there is no scientific proof. Unfortunately, dogs can. Both Cats and dogs can serve as a carrier of strep throat, but only dogs can deliver it. Luckily, neither cats or dogs can feel strep throat. that is the best answer I can give you.

No, cats (or dogs) cannot catch Strep Throat. There is also no scientific proof that a cat can carry 'Group A Streptococcus' - which is what causes Strep Throat infections. There is also no proof that a cat or dog can transmit Strep Throat to humans. The closest thing a cat can catch to Strep Throat is an Upper Respiratory Infection, which affects the mouth, nasal passages, sinuses, and upper airway in cats and kittens.
Well the same thing happened to my dog but since cats and dogs are not very simaler (because when a cats throat is touched they enjoy it) my dog would yelp when i touched its throat so i didnt cause much attention to her and just stayed away from her throat for a while and then after a few weeks the yelping stopped when i touched her throat so i recommend to stay away from that area for a while then eventually when you touch there the yelping will stop
