There are a number of urban myths that relate the condition of a dog's nose to it's overall health - and they are all false. A dog can be sick or healthy with a dry nose or with a wet nose or with a cold nose.

∙ 16y agoWell, it really doesn't matter if it is dry or wet when she is sick. Being sick will not cause your cat to have a dry nose.
If it is wet, it generally means that she has simply been drinking water or recently licked her nose. If it is dry, she just hasn't had water in the past half an hour or so.
I am not an absolute expert on cats, but I do own one and I have had a lot of experience with them, so I hope that this is the answer you are looking for!

∙ 12y agohas your cats nose been dry well it usually means that your cat is dehydrated make sure that he or she is drinking if not try adding water in there dry food then they will drink and if it is still dry try giving it lots of love and if that doesn't help you should notify a vet

- Lying in the sun
- Spending time near a source of heat
- Dwelling in a room with poor air circulation
- Licking - saliva quickly dries on skin
Looking at a cat's nose is a good way to check for some other problems. If your cat's nasal skin is flaking, a dermatological problem may be to blame. Ask your veterinarian to check it out.
When examining your cat's nose, another thing to look for is nasal discharge. If your cat's nose runs, the mucus should be clear. If your cat is producing bubbly, thick, yellow, green or even black mucus, see your veterinarian.

Some cats just have dryer noses than other. However, it wouldn't be a bad idea to take the cat to the vet for a check-up.

Yeah. Its kinda like your nose. If your nose gets dry it means you're sick, or are dehydrated. So cats should(most of the time) have a wet nose.
