In short, no. Coconuts need consistently high temperatures with high humidity and rainfall. Although the very southern parts of Italy probably have high enough temperatures, the Italian peninsula is very dry and sees little rainfall, in particular in the south. Some are grown privately in gardens (e.g. Sicily) and others are grown in greenhouses (various places). But the coconut (cocos nucifera) is not native to Italy or the mediterranean, it is grown widely in the tropics where it thrives on sandy beaches that can provide high temperatures, high humidity and a lot of rainfall.
Not on the mainland but yes they are grown in the Canary Islands
Yes, of course. In plentiful abundance. For example, Marseille's streets are lined with coconut palms, which street children suckle on in the heat of the day.

Coconut TreesCoconuts grow on Coconut trees.
No, coconuts do not grow underground. They grow on palm trees, high up off the ground.
There are two uses of a coconut 1. Coconuts are for eating 2. You can use a coconut to plant in a mixture of soil and sand and grow a coconut tree and have lots of coconuts. Where I live, in Britain, it is too cold to grow coconuts. Coconuts grow in hot, tropical climates like the Caribbean, and they can grow in climates like the Meditteranean or even slightly north of the Meditteranean, but they will need some care to grow. In Britain, where I live coconuts will be extremely hard to grow, so where I live they only have one use which is eating. Coconuts can even survive 38 degrees Celsius, but the temperature they're made for is around 21-28 degrees Celsius.
Coconuts grow next to the shore of the ocean. On the fifth day after you planted the coconut, the tree should be fully grown.
it takes about a month for to grow
