Light color does influence plant growth in several ways. However, it is
difficult for students to compare plant growth under different colored lights
because expensive equipment is required to assure that each treatment gets the
same amount of light and just the color is different. If this is not done, then
plant growth may be affected more by the different amount of light than the
color.
Some easier to set up plants and light experiments would be the following:
Examine the effect of light amount on plant growth. You can hang a 4 foot
fluorescent shop fixture at a 45 degree angle and get different amounts of light
from one end to the other.
Determine what color light is required for phototropism. This can be done with
red, green, and blue films and a black 35 mm film can. Punch holes in the middle
of the side of the film can at 120 degrees apart using a paper punch. Tape a
different colored film over each hole with transparent tape. Place some wet
paper towel squares on the film can lid and germinate a small seed, such as
Wisconsin Fast plant. Place the film can in a light location and see which
window the seedling bends toward. The control is a film can with no holes.
See if plant growth is better under special plant grow lights (such as Gro-Lux)
than with regular cool white fluorescent lamps. Use same wattage for each type.
yess it does. Blue light helps plants grow faster.
Im sorry but i dont know why though.
Red light makes plants grow slightely faster and green light makes them a tiny bit faster.
es, it does affect plant growth.
Yes it does By Jonathan Thornton
Yes.
Electrician (colored wires can affect wiring), Airplane pilot (red and green lights used on wings to help determine which direction a plane is flying).
It depends on the different chemicals they mix with the gun powder, blue comes from adding Copper Chloride, Red is from using Rubidium.
i think the northen lights affect people by the color of them because they are so so cute
Metal halide lights are a type of high-intensity discharge light. They're frequently used as grow lights for plants in conjunction with HPS (high pressure sodium) lights. MH lights are better for the earlier vegetative growth stages.
different colored lights have different energy required to kick an lectron out of its orbit in an electron transfer process inside the plant
Yes.
no
Different colored lights affect a persons mood more than anything. Whether the alteration in moods correspond to a change in behavior or not depends on the individual.
The LightInTheBox, LampsPlus, and LightingUniverse websites all sell colored lights online. Amazon and eBay also have colored lights for sale online.
What light is best for green plantsYes, different colors will affect plant growth. If you are growing a green plant yourself either make sure your plant gets enough sunlight. Under green light your plant will not grow the best since green light will reflect on green plants, blue and red lights work more effectively in plant growth.
Your tank will have two coloured lights.
When you mix colored lights you add colors until you get white.
yes it grows best because red and blue lights give photosynthisis
No
yes it would. plants absorb different colors of light better than others. the more light plants absorb, the more they grow. certain colors let in more light energy for the plant.
