Do dogs have to get stuck together after breeding?

Answer:
Dogs do not HAVE to get stuck together (become tied) for successful mating but it happens in the vast majority of matings. They may only be tied for a few minutes, usually about 10, but could be up to 40mins. After mating i feel it is wise to put both the dog and bitch on a lead and keep them calm so they don't struggle and hurt each other. Wait for them to part naturally.
