I worked for a direct marketing company that sold fat burners with a money back guarantee. They all were returned. A low fat diet with at least 30mins of cardio every day works. Nothing else.

These so-called " fat burners " don't work and just scam you out of your hard earned money. No product, and I mean NO product will ever help you to lose weight, that is, the real weight you want to lose, weight in FAT. These products do help you to lose weight but the weight will all be in either lean tissue or water weight. You can only achieve fat loss by proper eating and exercise. I don't totally blame you for believing that fat burners work. All of us live in a world where we have conveniences and time saving technology and advancements. Of course, like many people, if you live in a home where foods are microwaved to save time and you own a car to get to places faster, then you're going to naturally assume, " Oh! look at all the things that help me save time and make things go by faster with less effort and energy! Oh, wait a minute! They have stuff that can make you lose weight faster too?!?! Oh, then, these weight-loss products must work because we have many other things that speeds up the process with less effort and energy! hooray! ". But weight-loss is another issue, It is impossible to lose weight fast. The most weight you can lose in one week in FAT is 2 pounds. Now, I know this may not seem like much, but look at it this way. If you put enough time, energy, and effort you can lose 1 pound every 4 days, and that's every 4 days that goes by that you will look thinner. Now isn't that fast weight-loss!

Thanks to the two posters above for straightening that out because I was also wondering about the same thing.

I go to "Weight Watchers" to learn corrective eating habits. Like many people I do maintain my weight to a point, but, there are times one can slip up and put a few extra pounds on and so I'm back at it with the Xmas holidays coming up. If you eat right, exercise and drink 8 - 8 ounce glasses of water per day (cleans out toxins and fats in your body) then you are losing weight the healthy way. A brisk walk, swimming, is good exercise as well as biking.

One thing no one talks about is especially women and why they have more of a tendency to battle with over-weight issues. Women have a layer of fat and it's to do with child bearing years. You NEVER will lose that total layer of fat, but can become fairly solid with exercise and good eating habits. Another thing I learned from a Homeopathic doctor (I did this) was take ALL yeast out of your diet for 6 weeks. This means breads, buns, cakes, (yeast makes things rise) and you'll be amazed at the weight you lose. IT IS IMPORTANT that after the 6 weeks you introduce while grain bread back into your diet and only eat good foods with yeast in it. An over abundance of yeast in a woman's body can cause all sorts of problems such as yeast infections to becoming over-weight or even feeling lethargic because it clogs up the body.

Actually, most people buy fat burners thinking if they take it like a daily vitamin their fat will magically melt off. Thus is not the case. Fat burner pills are more like a crutch. There are good ones, and bad ones. Bad ones being the band wagon companies who want to make a quick buck off of the hype and off of peoples emotions. Those usually do nothing for anyone, other than play with peoples minds.


The good ones; they are out there (Research and talk to nutritionist), will bring results with discipline. They are meant to aid you. One characteristic of a fat burner is it will give you energy, this will help increase your work out performance. The more energy you have the more movement and vigorous your work outs can be. Which in turn help you burn those calories.

Another characteristic is they trigger natural hormones which speed up your metabolism so your anabolism can pull the proteins and amino acids out better which help for muscle building. Along with your catabolism which will break down food a lot better

Last popular characteristic of a fat burner is appetite suppressant. You will eat less and crave less, you feel full faster. It is your own will though that tells you when to stop eating if you do feel full. This can be a bad thing or a good thing. Bad because you might not be getting all the nutrients you need from your meals to stay healthy. Good because well your eating less, and if your working out then your eating less and burning more calories than your intake is. The best thing to do is take multivitamins if you find yourself eating less. That way you still get your nutrients, but with out the bad calories. But don't substitute that for food, because no matter how bad everyone says calories are. Your body still needs those to produce it's natural energy.

Fat burners like I said before are a crutch. Don't take them and expect to just go about your normal day and expect them to work. You actually still have to work out. Cut your meals smaller, maybe fruit in the morning for breakfast, lunch have a sandwich, dinner something with protein in it like salmon or a lean steak; and a glass of red wine will not hurt. In between have a few snacks like celery sticks.
