In the winter there are definitely not as many fleas, as it is too cold. The answer is no, you do not need to treat your cats for fleas in the winter. But if your cat has had fleas recently, the best choice is to play it safe, and treat them at least once.

It depends on the climate. I am in a low altitude place and it rain alot and my dog has a few fleas. But the humidity is what drags them in the house, too. It all depends on the location, altitude and climate of where you are.
