Why is good to have a goldfish such a pet?

Although high-maintenance, if goldfish are provided with proper care, they make excellent pets. Goldfish were the first domesticated species in the 11th century in China. Yellow goldfish were reserved specifically for royalty. While nowadays goldfish aren't quite the status symbol, there are dozens of varieties of goldfish that are beautiful and often portrayed in artwork. Goldfish owners report that their goldfish are engaging and may even interact with them. Several owners have documented their fish seeking out human contact, including petting. Goldfish will often approach humans and it has been shown that they can recognize specific people over a period of time. Owners have also taught their goldfish tricks. They are one of the most engaging and human-oriented variety of fish currently available to aquarists.

How would a goldfish do on a math test?

Ha, ha, ha! Funny question. I bet that the goldfish will get zero. First, goldfish don't have hands. How can they write or type or show an answer? Second, goldfish have a three second memory. Don't expect them to recognize you as their owner, because they'll forget.

Why do goldfish bang on tank?

They could be seeing themselves in the reflection of the glass of your tank, but since goldfish do not have the capacity to recognize themselves in a reflection they think it is another goldfish and attempt to swim towards it. It has nothing to do with having a short memory span as the previous answer said, because goldfish actually have a long-term memory span of about three months.

When do goldfish die?

Usually when they are about 2-3 years old. Goldfish can also die if you don't feed them enough, or too much. When goldfish are not kept in a clean habitat, they can get sick and die. Make sure to clean your goldfish tank at least once a week. Remember, goldfish mainly die from aging

Can goldfish see you?

Yes, a goldfish can see you; in color for that matter. Goldfish have eyes on the sides of their heads which gives them a blind spot right in front of them. They can see fairly decent close up but not as clear at greater distances. They can also sense your movements with their 'sixth sense' located in their lateral line. It helps them recognize where predators are approaching from.

What does a goldfish eat but that is not fish food?

Goldfish are omnivores, and they can eat lots of vegetables (but don't try feeding them any fruits...I never tried....but wouldn't it be weird to feed goldfish a mango or a peach?). Fish food is all protein, usually, and eating only fish food usually helps constipation happen to your poor goldfish. Imagine humans eating only meat! So I always feed my goldfish pieces of lettuce and the insides of cooked frozen peas. They make my fish healthier. Though I have never tried, some goldfish owners feed their goldfish live food, like those tiny shrimps. It is healthier for your goldfish to eat a wide variety of good, not only fish food.
