At one point, some iPod models shipped with a wall charger, but from the iPod 5th generation (video) on (including all smaller models after the iPod mini), the wall charger has been a separate (and optional) purchase.
The iPod can usually be charged just fine via a USB2 port on any computer. Just be careful not to let the computer go into 'sleep' mode while the iPod is charging, and avoid front USB ports on desktop computers, as they tend to be lower power ports.
