Weinet nicht an meinem Grab um mich;
He was saying please don't kill me, please don't kill me! Then he started to pray "our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name......." and so on. Upham asked him if he was the one on the machine gun and the German denied it saying he was the one that reloaded it, not the one who shot it. At the grave when they told him he was finished, he started to scream that he was not done yet and that the grave was not deep enough.
I am a German citizen.

In what language please? If you were to ask for German it would be "Serh Gute"!
Mum can you stand by me for the photo please. This is the literal meaning of stand by not the idiomatic meaning. (above) Stand by we are ready to leave. I knew they would stand by us, whatever we did.
We would be glad to help you but please ask a specific question about your homework.
Grave offenses would be committing murder, grand theft, etc. Less grave offenses would be things such as J-walking, speeding, and petty theft.
In German or "auf Deutsch" you would say - "Helfen Sie mir Bitte, ich haben meinen kleinen Hund verloren" …. which means "please help me, I have lost my little dog"
Grave offenses would be committing murder, grand theft, etc. Less grave offenses would be things such as J-walking, speeding, and petty theft.
Nobody did. The quotation "I would the fool were married to her grave" is from the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare.
I think so. why else would you be standing at the foot of a grave? unless it's somebody you know, in which case you don't really need to read the headstone every time you visit it. Do you mean 'should you be able to read the front of the headstone?'. In that case, yes: the front part of the headstone is the part facing the grave, so if you are standing on the grave side of the headstone you'll be able to read the front.
an idiot... If he were alive today, he wouldn't be in a grave.
