Do people think it will reck earth?

They used to, but not anymore. Scientists have discovered (a while ago) that earth is shaped like a sphere.

Because we did not know earth was an oblate spheroid. Ignorance: same reason some people think an invisible superhero created it.

People thought the Earth was flat because they could not imagine it being any other shape - if it was a sphere, supposedly they would "fall into space" if they were on the other side of the world.
