Polystyrene feels warmer than a copper block because it is softer so your hand instantly thinks it is warmer. Really in a way it's a bit like having an optical illusion done to your body.
The smaller the tile, the larger the room looks.

I could be wrong, but No resin is needed to make Polystyrene hard.Polystyrene is a thermoplastic substance, which is in solid (glassy) state at room temperature, but flows if heated above its glass transition temperature (for molding or extrusion), and becoming solid again when cooling off.source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polystyrene

in a square/rectangular room, count the tiles across and the tiles along then multiply.
If the floor tiles are measured in inches and the room is measured in feet then the tiles are 1sq feet and the room is 6x8 = 48 sq feet so you would need 48 tiles.
Depends on the size of the tiles.

Mark off imaginary squares for large portions of the room and take measurments. Do the same for any smaller sections and add them all together. Measure your room as if it were rectangular. Measure the longest distance from wall to wall going each direction in the room. Make sure to cut only the tiles you need so you can return any tiles that you do not need.
