With newly-excavated emotions hanging out all over, there may be a substantial temptation. The best thing a spouse can do in a situation like that is to hit some Al-Anon meetings and learn how to deal with newly-sober drunks.
You should also know that the survival rate of such relationships is much lower than average. We may find that we're simply married to a different person than we thought.
