It actually depends. If the person that is showing the romanticism is being as creative as they can be, then yes it does emphasize imagination. If you don't think of an idea yourself, then you are not really showing emphasizing imagination. Like for example:
Imagination: If i had created one myself like......... If you took them to an Olive Garden or something. Then that would be showing an amount of imagination. Pretty much if you think of an idea of your own, you are showing imagination.
Non-Imagination: I saw a show on TV once that had The Bachelor sky dive from an airplane and land on his knee to propose. If I did that, I would not be showing any Imagination at all.
your mom is the literary movement Romanticism is the outcome of the French Revolution and the Industrial Revolution. The catchwords of libertry , equality and fraternity and the dislike of the city life and its artificialities drew poets to the simplicities of Nature and the humble people of the countryside. I feel that is also has something to do with imagination, Art is the bringing of that imagination out and reflecting it in a piece. In my view, imagination is indeed an important life skill or at least the beginning of it, the ability to bring that imagination to life in a piece of art develops that skill.
