Do same sex rabbits have sex?

Answer:
They may not have actual intercourse, but they will sure go through the motions. It is just part of a rabbits nature. If it is a pet you can spay or neuter your rabbit and this will help calm it down some. Most likely this will not eliminate the behavior completely, but it will help calm them so they don't hurt each other when they attempt to mate.

If you have pets in the same cage, you must physically examine them often. They have very sharp teeth and they like to "grab" the other rabbit with their teeth while trying to mate. They can also reverse this position and males can be in danger of being castrated by the other ones bite, which could be life threatening to the injured rabbit if gone untreated. It's best to keep in two cages until both rabbits have made a trip to the veterinarian to be spayed or neutered.
