Best Answer

Trees do NOT release Carbon Dioxide (CO2).

In the Carbon/Oxygen cycle animated life (humans animals) exhale CO2 in to the atmosphere. This CO2 is then inhaled by vegetative life ; green plants, trees, grass etc., Under the process of photosynthesis, the green plant breaks down (decomposes) CO2 into Oxygen(O2) and Carbon (Biomass.

The oxygen (O2) is then exhaled by the plant back into the atmosphere, and the carbon is converted into biomass ( part of the plant's own mass). The oxygen is then inhaled by animated life, and released (exhaled) as CO2 back into the atmosphere. The cycle then repeats.

NB 1. Photosynthesis only proceeds when their is UV light from the Sun. So at night, the process stops. However, it is a much faster process than animated CO2 production because the atmosphere contains ~20% oxygen but only ~0.004% CO2.

NNB 2. CO2 is a heavy gas and falls to the ground, where all green plants live.

It is a natural and very efficient process, so order to limit CO2 in the atmosphere we should grow as much plant material as possible.

At night they do. During the day, they give off oxygen.

All normal plants, in the process of photosynthesis, take up carbon dioxide by day and release oxygen. This switches over in the dark, and they then produce carbon dioxide through respiration in the same way as animals. While they are growing, they take up more carbon dioxide overall than they give out, which gets turned into plant tissues (especially cellulose and, in the case of trees, lignin).

Only when there is insufficient sunlight to perform photosynthesis.

During the day, trees and other plants absorb carbon dioxide to extract the carbon to make their food. When there is not enough light present for photosynthesis, the process is reversed and plants use cellular respiration as animals do (absorbing oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide).

When they are burned just like everything else some carbon dioxide is released but each leaf takes in as much carbon dioxide for photosynthesis. The formula for photosynthesis doesnt put carbon dioxide in the output section so i will say NO> From the UN's Intergorvernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC): The problem is that although trees absorb CO2 during photosynthesis, they also release it back into the air when plant matter breaks down the sugars they have made. This process is called respiration. That will be yes then.

Yes plants release Carbon dioxide at night. They burn up some of the sugar they made during the day.

no, they absorb Co2, and they release O2.

Yes they do but when they are not photosynthesising they let out some of the carbon dioxide so they aren't the most useful to the environment

Which tree not give oxygen?

All trees give oxygen; it is a result of the trees "inhaling" carbon dioxide. Just like how humans give off carbon dioxide when they exhale, trees also give off carbon dioxide. So all trees give off oxygen to the environment-its a natural result of trees trying to survive.

Do trees need other trees for oxygen?

Trees do not consume oxygen. They consume carbon dioxide, and give off oxygen.

Where do trees eat?

trees breath in carbon dioxide through their leaves and then give off oxygen so we can breath

Do rotting trees give off methane?

Yes they do give off methane and this is even more harmful than carbon dioxide.

Why do you need trees in a short explanation?

Trees breathe carbon dioxide- which we exhale- and they give off oxygen- which we need to survive.

Do trees give off oxygen some times and carbon dioxide at other times?

When you inhale oxygen (comming from the trees), you then exhale carbon dioxide, C02, that goes to the trees and starts the whole cycle over again.

Do you need trees to live?

Technically, I believe we do need trees to live. As we give off carbon dioxide, the trees and plants give off oxygen. Without them, we would die. Trees also have many uses.

Can you survive with out trees or plants?

No, because plants clean the air of carbon dioxide and give off oxygen.

How do monkeys give off carbon dioxide?

Monkeys give off carbon dioxide when they exhale - the same as humans do!

How do trees fit in to the scheme of life?

trees give off carbon dioxide which is converted to oxygen, in which we need in order to breathe. the trees help us breathe!

What is the Empirical formula for carbon dioxide?

Carbon dioxide! We give off carbon dioxide, plants give off oxygen. Its one carbon atom and two oxygen atoms.

What operation is for carbon dioxide?

Carbon Dioxide is exhaled by all living animals, even humans. The build up of Carbon Dioxide is poisonous but it's needed for this operation.Plant life, like trees, grass, flowers, etc., feed off of Carbon Dioxide, and they give off Oxygen. So what animals exhale, plants feed on and give us air in return.
