It depends on where you are going to purchase that second-hand iPhone. If you are buying it directly from the seller or from the retailer or manufacturer. If you are buying it directly from the user then it is advisable to sign a contract and if you are buying it from registered sellers like Xtracover then you are going to get all the documents so its not necessary to sign any kind of contract.
