Freeview is the UK terrestrial digital television servce. It uses conventional television aerials but a Freeview tuner demands a good signal to operate. Although indoor aerials can sometimes work, the signal strength inside a home is much weaker than outside. Often, an indoor aerial will not give good or reliable results but it depends on the signal strength and how the building affects the signal.
The only way to find out if an indoor aerial will work reliably is to try it and see. Don't be disappointed if it doesn't work at all or if only a handful of channels are found.
Local aerial installation companies will have experience of the area and will be able to offer guidance based on your location.

To view Freeview TV you will need an antena. Either on top of your Television of on top of your house for better signals. You will also need either a TV with built in freeview or a freeview box. You will also need someone to fit freeview tv for you as it involves lots of climbing up ladders and wiring!

You don't need anything extra - just connect them in this order... Freeview box - DVD recorder - TV. The signal will be recorded by the DVD recorder before it gets to the TV
How do you record freeview channels on to Sanyo DVD dvr v100e?
You can only record freeview by connecting a freeview box or TV via the scart socket or the other connectors on the Sanyo. Then select INPUT to bring up the source. For instance AV2 if you have connected a box to AV2 scart. Then press record or set a timer. leave the freeview box on and on the channel you want. As far as I know the model does not have freeview built in. You can download the user manual PDF from Sanyo UK for free if you have lost the instructions. The section you need should be on page 50. Recording from an external input.
