Do you need wireless internet service to have wireless internet or do you just need a wireless router to send the signal with normal wired DSL Bellsouth internet? |

Answer
Both are possible solutions that result in different kinds of wireless internet access. You can use one or the other or even both.
In the second case by connecting a wireless router to your DSL you will be able to use the internet wirelessly with several laptops within say a couple hundred feet of your wireless router that must stay connedcted to your DSL modem. It should work at the same speed as your DSL.
The other option is to sign up for a wireless internet service. Usually though one of the cell phone companies. They will then give your computer a cellphone receiver from witch allows it to use the internet over the cellular system. This means that It will work in many of the same places with cell phone coverage. The down side is cost and usually slow connection speeds.
Finally a third option is to get a plan that lets you use wifi stations set up by companies instead of you. For instance you could pay for a plan that allows you to connect inside starbuckes or a plan that lets you connect in most airports.
