do not try and freeze any type of wine.. it will explode in your freezer. The carbonation in it will make it crack- making it messy and dangerous. For best wine chilling, put it between fruits and veggies in your crispe.. should be super cold within an hour.

Yes. Use an inexpensive rubber stomper and pump to keep the air out. Repump every day or so and the bottle can last.

Wine is a very delicate living thing. Once a bottle is opened it's meant to be consumed quickly. Red wine degenerates at a very fast pace after the cork has been removed, as the cork keeps the wine in an air-tight environment.

Red wine won't necessarily spoil within a few days of opening, but after one day of being open it's quality will be, and will continue to be, dramatically reduced day by day.

You do not refrigerate Red Wines either before or after opening. White wines & Zinfandels, yes, but never Reds, whether Merlot or any other Red. Wine is 'alive' after a fashion, and when you open it the degeneration process begins. Refrigerating a red will only slow this process very slightly, will NOT stop it; further, the changes in temperature from the fridge to the room it's in will further degrade it. Reds are meant to be consumed shortly after opening, they do not hold well.

marsala is a fortified wine, the extra alcohol will keep it from spoiling indefinitely, store it in a dark cool closet
