Yes, until the order is modified. You can request a modification at child support enforcement. If it appears the child will remain there until aged out, you may need to file for emancipation. see links below

He still owes child support, until/unless the order is modified or suspended.

Why not? The child still has needs, even if one of the parents is in prison. Prisoners already have their rent and 'grocery bills' taken care of, so if the prisoner has any money, they should help taking care of the child they helped 'make'.

Child support is never erased from the books until it is paid, assuming it is paid, even after the child becomes an adult.
