Does Amnesty International support the IRA?

Answer:
A:

No, Amnesty Internation does not support the Irish Republican Army. Amnesty International's mission is to monitor and report inhumane and illegal treatment of people throughout the world. The are apolitical and non-sectarian.

The IRA on the other hand was considered to be a terrorist organization. While Amnesty International may object to the treatment of IRA prisoners, this should not be confused with supporting the IRA or any other cause.

BTW, The action arm of the IRA has been disbanded and no longer exists.
