Does Jesus being Jewish suggest Judaism is the correct religion and the one to which people should convert?

Protected question

Conversion to Judaism was the intention of Jesus

It is difficult to affirm a concrete dogma considering all the New Testament data that may lead people to think contrary to conversion to Judaism. Nonetheless, based on the evidence I've uncovered thus far, I believe that conversion to Judaism was the intention of Jesus and His followers.Remembering that the New Testament scriptures are enveloped in first century culture, we can uncover how the first believers understood the words of Jesus by applying historical evidence.

First, the religion of Jesus and His followers was Judaism. Jesus clearly frequented the synagogue (as did Paul and the other disciples) and the festivals of the Jews - a clear sign of His religion.

Second, contrary to popular belief, the relationship between Jesus and the Pharisees was not thoroughly turbulent. There is much scholarly work to support that it was more of an intra-jewish conflict. In fact Jesus endorses the Pharisees in Matthew Chapter 23. Close examination of the passage reveals that Jesus had a problem with Pharisees that did not practice what they preached, yet He did not totally disagree with their doctrine.

Now you may be thinking that that is a stretch, but look at the internal evidence. It is often understood among modern Christendom that the Apostolic Decree at the "Jerusalem Counsel" (Acts 15) instructed Gentiles to only keep the Noahide laws (Gen 9). However, most modern scholars have abandon this view, and theorize that the minimal requirements for the Gentiles were probably based on Levitical laws (Lev 17 - 18) rather than Noahide. In my opinion, New Testament internal evidence supports this view. Whenever Paul argues his "faith based doctrine,"(Gal 3:6-11) he points to Abraham - not Noah. The same can be said about James. When James said that "faith without works is dead," (James 2:14-26) he also formulates his argument based on the patriarch. The big question is - Why? Why Abraham and not Noah? In fact Noah is never even mentioned in any argument relating to "Gentile Christians." I believe that Abraham was the example because he was the first Gentile to convert to Judaism.

If we re-examine the Jerusalem counsel (Acts 15) it becomes evident that the question that is being addressed was - how to convert Gentiles to Judaism? The Pharisees, that believed, adamantly declare that they be circumcised - Just as Abraham. The Council, the Pharisees and Paul, all agree that Abraham was the first convert for obvious reasons - he is the proselyte model that is advanced by the Torah. However, there remains the question of when the Torah declares the defining moment that Abraham became a Jew. Was it when Abraham believed and G-d accounted it as righteousness? Was it when he and his children were circumcised? Or was it when he left Ur of the Chaldees? This is the gray-area that the Council was dealing with.

The Jerusalem Council, as it appears by their final judgment, determined that Abraham became a Jew when he faithfully believed in the almighty G-d and, separated himself from Idolatry (Abraham's father Terah was pagan Josh. 24:2). For this reason they declared that Gentiles (that are turning to G-d - Acts:15:19) should abstain from anything that would associate them with idolatry - sexual immorality, things strangled, and blood - Just as Abraham. Later, after instruction from the Torah (Acts 15:21), they are to be baptized - something that is not specifically mentioned at the council. Now this begs the question. What purpose does baptism serve? Also, for those that might argue that circumcision is an outward ritual, consider that this is also true of baptism. It is my opinion, that baptism is used by the followers of Jesus for proselyte conversion into Judaism, and I believe that the New Testament Scriptures support this view. One needs to look no further than Paul, who echos the rabbinic language that encompases proselyte conversion. It is Gentiles, per the sages, that are considered to have died when they went into the mikvah - immersion pool and emerged a born again Jew. In this context, consider the words of Paul:

"Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."

Further evidence of this is found in Corinthians 5 when Paul, writing to a Gentile Church, appears to consider them as full fledged Jews by his statement: "It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles--that a man has his father's wife!" In this context Paul's letter becomes intelligible - proselytes should not behave as (pagan) gentiles, rather they should reflect the ethics of a gentile proselyte (born again Jew).

Jesus commanded to go to all nations

Even though pre-resurrection, Jesus commanded the disciples not to go to the Gentiles, His post-resurrection stance was different. He commanded them to go to all nations: Mat 28:19 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost"

Baptism was and is known to be a part of Gentile conversion to Judaism. Therefore Jewish: Yes. Conversion to Judaism: Very probable

Jesus was Jewish and he did effectevely 'leave' Judaism for his belief that he was the son of G-D. However he never proclaimed any other religion other than Judaism and still practised Pesach (passover) and the 'last supper' was Pesach anyway. Christianity was formed by Jesus's followers. They were 'the followers of Christ'. But they didn't convert to Christianity, they still practised Judaism, they simply formed 'a group' praising and believeing in Christ. Eventually, people started to turn 'followers of Christ group' into a religion, leaving Judaism behind and replacing the ONE G-D belief with Jesus being the son of G-D. This is why Judaism's belief's are simaler in ways with Christianity. However, Christian's should not convert to Judaism. Jews believe that Judaism is the right faith (naturally) but you should only ever convert if you stop believeing in your own faith and start to believe in Judaism. The major thing that sets Jews and Christians apart is the beliefs about Jesus. If you believe Jesus is the son of G-D then you belong to Christianity. If you don't, then maybe you should convert. To summarise: Jesus was Jewish, but Jews do not pray to him, so if you converted, you would no longer be practising and praying to Jesus so would be unhappy in Judaism.

Jesus was born into the Jewish family of Mary and Joseph

Jesus came to offer salvation to all, Jews and Gentiles (those who are non-Jewish). It is a free gift offered to all who believe in Him.

Truly, Jesus was born a Jew. He was raised on the Old Testament scriptures that Jews are still taught today. However, as prophesied in the Old Testament, his own people did not accept Him for who He was. In fact, it was the Jewish leaders of that time who served as proponents to his crucifixion. To this day, Jews still do not accept Christ as the Messiah, hence the distinction between Judaism and Christianity.

Bottom line: All a Jew is is a Christian who hasn't read and accepted the latter half (New Testament) of the Bible yet.

The Jews think that their Savior has not come but He has. They do not accept that he is their king. They do not believe he is the Saviour

Christians believe God the Father sent His only Son Jesus Christ who is the true Messiah to this world to accomplish His promise of love. The death of Jesus Christ was planned by GOD, hundreds of years before Jesus Christ was born to this world. He died to pay for all of our sins (we are all sinners) and he arose to give us Eternal life. Read John 1:1, John 3:16,17... Jesus Christ died for us, He paid for the penalty of our sins, He went to hell for us, so we don't have to go to hell. Why? because he is the only one that defeated death, He arose after the third day to give us eternity. We don't deserve salvation, but God with His amazing love gave us grace, the gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ is among us in His Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ was born a Jew, but that doesn't mean that he started Judaism. He didn't come to this earth to start a "religion" God is love. Men are the ones that have separated them selves from God by starting religions. The Bible says that the only true religion is love. The most important reason why Jesus Christ came to this world is because He loved, He loves and He will always love us. Christianity is not a religion. Christianity is to follow Jesus Christ, to follow his example. If we come to Jesus Christ, he will teach us to love. He wants us to love one another. He says to love our enemies too! The Bible is the inspiration of God, the Bible is the word of GOD. The word of God does not talk to us about religions. His word talks about his truth, about His love. The truth is that He loves all of us and He does not want anybody to go to hell. Our souls are extremely important to Him. As soon as we repent of our sin and accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour we become Gods children. Only then, We will start to experiment true love in our lives, because it's impossible to have love without GOD in His perfect Trinity.

Yes, Jesus is Jewish because his mother is Jewish

There is no need for anyone to "convert" to Judaism, however, for what may be simply stated as two reasons:

(1) Anyone who believes in Jesus is doing the will of God by trusting God's Son to take away their sins with the blood he shed.

(2) As Jesus said regarding anyone who is doing the true will of God: "For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother." (Matthew 12:50)

Therefore by believing in Jesus, a person becomes as closely related to Jesus as though being his brother or sister or mother and therefore since Jesus is Jewish, everyone who believes in Jesus is as Jewish as Jesus, which should be Jewish enough for anyone since Jesus is the perfection of Jewishness.

Biblically, Jesus' life marked the beginning of a new path

...intended to supersede Judaism (at least, as far as Christians are concerned). Judaism is based on the Old Testament only, whereas Christians also accept the New Testament as divine truth.

Ethnically, Jesus was born and raised Jewish; prior to his life, it was not possible to be raised "Christian," because his church was not founded until afterward. Mormons could ask the same question about Christians who have not read or accepted their additional testament, the Book of Mormon.

Jews, as a whole, do not accept the divinity of Jesus and can therefore not be considered Christians.

A Number of Things to Keep in Mind

1. Jesus was born into the nation of Israel - Gods chosen nation - and was raised a Jew - learning the scriptures.

2. There were hundreds of prophecies that spoke of the coming of the Messiah in the Old Testament. The Jews clearly knew what signs to look for as to when the Messiah was to have arrived, the works he would accomplish, and what it would mean for the nation of Israel.

3. Jesus purpose was to preach about God's Kingdom to the nation of Israel. The nation of Israel (the Jews) rejected Jesus as the Messiah despite the mountains of evidence as to who he was. At one point, after performing miracles, they Jewish religious leaders went so far as to call Jesus the Son of God, "an agent of Satan". They also had him put to death at the hands of the Romans on the charge of sedition.

4. God and Jesus thus rejected natural Israel as God's chosen nation because of their wickedness and haughtiness. Christ instituted a "New Covenant" at Passover the night before he was killed. That New Covenant replaced the Mosaic Law Covenant that had been in effect for the nation of Israel.

5. At Pentecost of 33 AD, Gentiles were anointed with Gods Holy Spirit. Thus, the preaching of Gods Kingdom that was originally intended for Gods chosen nation Israel, now went forth into the Gentile lands, giving all an opportunity for redemption from sin through Christ's sacrifice.

6. Also, the Apostle Paul further indicated that the Mosaic Law covenant with the nation of Israel was no longer in force when he indicated at Colossians 2:14 that God " blotted out the handwritten document against us which consisted of decrees and which was in opposition to us, and He has taken it out of the way by nailing it to the cross." (Cross, stake, torture stake, impaling stake depending on your translation)

Jews as individuals may find salvation through Christ's sacrifice as well as anyone else. However, the fleshly nation of Israel no longer enjoys Gods exclusive favor. They are no long representative as "Gods chosen nation", as they once had been.

Matthew 5:17

(Jesus is speaking) "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill." We are to be followers after the Lord Jesus Christ, Messiah of the Old Testament, not a religion. Pursue a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, not a hollow religion.

Jesus never claimed to be Jewish

It is only the religious claim.

No need to convert

In my opinion, there is no need to convert to what a person lip professing as a claimed belief already. If we understand the principles of Judaism which is:

1.) A FOCUS UPON THIS WORLD RATHER THAN JUST THE AFTERLIFE.

Although Judaism believes firmly in the spiritual life of the soul in the hereafter, the emphasis of Jews has always been upon actions in this world.

2.) SPIRITUAL SATISFACTION.

Judaism opens up an entirely different, spiritual view of the world. Judaism provides a lens through which to see and a sensor with which to feel previously ignored spiritual dimensions of life. For spiritual access, people need a new point of view, a religious perspective.

According to the above, these principles are universal. There is no need to convert because as a lip professed believer in Jesus and/or God you're already a convert to Judaism. Its just another title if you really think about it.

No, Judaism believes only in the original manuscript, or Old Testament, instead of the New and the Old

Judaism focuses on the hardships of the Hebrew people and God who saved them. Christianity reflects on Christ as a savior and him being resurrected and coming to save those for salvation.

There was no such thing as "Judaism" in the entire Old Testament. This is a religion of man made rules that do not reflect the heart and spirit of the Law of Moses which was to seek to honor the Lord their God and to have relationship with Him as a Father to a People. Jews do not seek to please the Father in Heaven, if they did they wouldn't have rejected the Messiah their Father gave to them.

The Messiah spoke against these religious practices that actually made people subject to the priests and not to God. So no, we are to observe the teachings of the Old Testament, the New Testament and to be "born again" through the Christ who gave Himself as a ransom for all mankind. To worship the One True God only and not to merely observe rituals for ritual sake.

Jesus was Judean not Jewish

1. The word Judaism comes from Judea. It means "the practices of Judea". 2. Jew comes from Judea, just like Hindu comes from Hindustan(India). 3. Jewish is (or atleast should be) a religious term for "The followers of Judaism".so "the followers of the practices of judea". If Jesus did not follow those practices, he should no longer be recognised as Jewish but Judean.4. By following Jesus (Esau), you are going against Judaism that was followed in those days. 5. Anybody that claims to be "of the Jewish race" is not Jewish but Judean. Having a racist religion is forbidden in Judaism (the proper one, the kind accepted by Jesus Christ and Christians). 6. Judaism went away from "the religion of Abraham", that is what Jews, Christians and Muslims are suppose to follow. Not thier own versions.

Judaism and Christianity are linked

I think a virtually perfect explanation is citing Jesus's statement in Matthew 5:17 . In Jesus's frequent quarrels with the Pharisees , he seemed to consider the religious practice of the day to be hypocritical , anachronistic , and impossibly ritualistic . Consider the statement ' To strain out a gnat and swallow a camel." Jesus' new message was one of simplicity and accessibility for all , including Gentiles . Judaism being an integral part of the modern Bible , it is also an integral part of Christianity and therefore could be said to be a correct religion considering the many branches and other permutations it has undergone throughout it's history .

It depends

if you follow Jesus; Matt 5:17, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill." & Matthew 10:5, "These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:"or if you will follow Paul;Galatians 3:21-25, "3:21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
3:22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

Jesus and Judaism

Jesus was Jewish, yes, and sought to reform some aspects of Judaism. However, while he never intended to leave the religion, he effectively did, because if he did indeed claim to be 'god', then this is a big violation of sacred Jewish belief. In Judaism no mortal can ever be divine. And G-d never takes human form.

Judaism itself does not claim to be the 'only' correct faith. Rather, it teaches that ALL humans are equally G-d's children. We are all equally capable of a meaningful relationship with G-d. And the righteous of all nations 'will have a share in the world to come'. Judaism is just ONE path to G-d. It is not 'the' path.

So no, just because Jesus was born into a Jewish family, nobody needs to convert to Judaism. Although some people do, of course - just as some Jews convert to other faiths.

The early followers of Jesus were Jewish but again, the moment they accepted that Jesus was 'god incarnate' and 'messiah' and that he'd been 'resurrected', they were effectively *leaving* Judaism and becoming part of the new emerging faith that ultimately became Christianity.

Judaism and Christianity are profoundly different faiths. If you believe in one then by default, you reject the other. Nobody can agree with both of them - because they disagree entirely on almost everything!

This has never been a problem for Judaism, because as Jews we respect all other faiths. But as we all know, for the past 2000 yrs Christianity has tried its hardest, often with fatal and tragic results for Jews, to convince the Jews to convert to Christianity.

Jesus and the Samaritan woman

I believe that Yeshua's encounter with the Samaritan woman answers this question pretty completely. Jesus is a Greek name, Yeshua was a Jewish Rabbi who ministered primarily to Jews. The word Rabbi means teacher. At the time of Yeshua it was a sign of respect, ordination was not an issue among his followers. It is quite likely that his earliest followers were never exposed to those doctrines which now separate Christianity from Judaism. Yeshua's brother James had serious issues with the Romanized teachings of Paul. We may never know the real truth because the Roman Church has destroyed many documents because they wanted their so-called "truth" to be the only one.

John 4:1-26

He met a woman who was a Samaritan at a well, Samaritans were unclean to the Jews and she was an outcast of the Samaritans, her social status was - zero. She told Jesus: "Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship."(Since Jesus taught mostly to Jews he didn't get into religious discussions often. When he spoke to the Jews he spoke of Spiritual concepts, not religious ones.)The woman expected Yeshua to look down at her because of her religion and expected the temple and sacrifice and all of that would be the issue.Yeshua taught her the same things he taught the Jews, that it was "sin" or separation from God that was the problem, not where she worshiped. Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. "You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews."But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. Yeshua was ethnically a Hebrew and religiously a Jew. If you accept the authority of the Bible it's pretty hard to argue this in light of this passage.

He also didn't worry much about religious form. The Pharisees had issues with him because he didn't follow the law the way they thought he should. He also didn't worry much about politics - that's why the Romans had issues with him. Yeshua focused on a basic Gospel of reconciliation with God through repentance, Spiritual rebirth, treating those around you with love and respect. That is what comes first and that's what being "born again" is really about.

If you are "born of Spirit" and put God and love of yourself and your fellow "sons of God" first in your life you may call yourself Christian, or Jewish, or Moslem, or Hindu, or Wiccan, or any other label that describes your religious beliefs on this earth. God looks at the person, not the label. This is the message of John 4:1-26.

There is only one Truth, but the ways of understanding it are as many as there are souls. I believe that the One Way taught by Yeshua was turning to God and Truth and dedicating your life to its discovery and understanding. God has no name. God is Truth. Truth has no name (or religion).

What does God say about this ?

The interesting part of it is that the question is from around 2000 years old. Some of the Hebrews that followed Jesus were also keeping the old traditions and the Laws of the Covenant that was given from God to them through Moses. There were disputes if traditions should be kept or not. So there was a real problem in the Church.

God addressed that problem through apostle Paul. The book of Hebrews in the Bible is the answer to your question (mainly chapter 7 to 10 speaks about this problem). If you want the bottom line of the passage, here it is :

  • There was a covenant from God with Hebrews in the days of Moses
  • The covenant was an "image" of the real covenant to come
  • God talks many times about a covenant to come even thou the old one was in "practice". So God talks about a new covenant. (example: Isaiah 55:3)
  • The new covenant was to replace the old one
  • The new covenant is in Jesus
  • There is no more keeping the old covenant but the new one. If we don't keep the new one, we do not listen to God. Let me explain that :

  • The old one said something like: "You need to obey the Lord and His laws to have life. And if you sin, you need to make a lamb sacrifice on the altar" .
  • The new one says something like: "You need to obey the Lord and His laws to have life. But nobody can do that by himself, but only in Jesus. You must believe and listen to Jesus. If you've sinned and repented, the Holy Blood of Jesus sacrifice is enough to cleanse you.
  • You don't need the lamb sacrifice because the lamb was an "image" of the new covenant done by Jesus. John 1:29 "The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."

Jesus never said to convert from a religion to another, nor did He promote a religion. All He said is: repent and then walk the right way: His way! So you don't need to convert to some religion but to listen, trust and obey God. The way to obey is the way He wants you to obey, and not the way you want to listen to Him. He wants us to listen to the one He send to us: Jesus. John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

The mandate of Israel

Let me paraphrase this query: If Obama is an American, do you have to be an American to accept him as your President? The office of the Presidency of the US belongs to the Americans: the Identity, the Mandate, the Definitions, the Executions, the Forms, Symbolisms, Land, Country, Nation. You name it.

The word Christ is a transliteration of the Hebrew word MASCHIACH. This word represents 3 Offices: 1. The office of Kingship of the Kingdom of Israel, 2. The office of the Chief Prophet of the People of Israel 3. The office of the High Priest of the Congregation of Israel. The Law was given to Israel, the office of the Congregation of the G-D of Israel was given to Israel, and the office of the Peoplehood of the G-D of Israel was assigned to Israel. This raises the question that if YESHUA is the Maschaich of the congregation of Israel, what are we Christians doing claiming those offices that belong to Israel?

Yeshua indeed instructed all who believes in Him to follow His Way, but that Way was already revealed to and given to Israel before His birth. The Way then also belongs to Israel and not to us gentiles. The Interpretation of the Way, the Execution, the Definition belongs to Israel in much the same that the rights of amending the US Constitution belongs to the Americans because the US Constitution belongs to the Americans.

The early Christians were indeed Jews. They never left their faith: it would have been like de-grafting themselves from the Olive Tree, their Tree. The early congregations did not became "gradually" gentile over the years, they were destroyed. The gentiles who joined their congregations were infiltrators from the cults of the Queen of Heaven. The writers of the New Testament actually gave some warnings about them in their letters.

When the mainstream Jews in Israel revolted and were destroyed and exiled in the process, the Empire was suddenly hostile to the Jews and their ways. The gentile converts (infiltrators) took advantage of this official hostility. Many of those gentile converts turned on the Jewish components and gave them up to the Romans for slavery and entertainment in the colloseums. Those martyrs executed in the arenas were actually the Messianic Jews of the early congregations. Those secret adherents of the cult of the Queen of Heaven then took over the leadership of what was left of the shell of those congregations. This is called decapitation.

This is why in only 2 centuries we have the Church, and that the Jewish teachings and leaderships were removed so easily. The church started to claim everything that belongs to or was given to Israel. The identity, the Covenants, the Promises, the Mandates, the Land, Yerushalayim, New Yerushalayim, the Maschiach as their Lord, the Ownership of the citizenship of the Congregation, the Bible, The LAW, the Interpretation, the Definitions, the right to amend the LAW and the Teachings

If Yeshua is the Head of the Church, He has no business claiming to be the Maschiach of Israel. On the other hand, if Yeshua is indeed the Maschiach of Israel, then He can never be the Head of the Church. If the church owns the Mandate of the Office of the Maschiach of Israel, then the whole Bible is a lie. That can mean only one thing: G-D is a liar and the Holy Spirit is a conveyor of lies.

On the other hand, if Yeshua is indeed the Maschiach of Israel then the identity and the claims of the Church is false and she is guilty, along with s-t-n, of accusing G-D of being a liar. The Church also stands guilty of the unforgivable sin of accusing the Holy Spirit of being the conveyor of lies. Israel is the Olive Tree into whom all others are to be"engrafted" to.

Contrary the gentile's belief that the the 10 commandments is the "THE LAW", it is not. only Israel has the prerogative to define what the "LAW" is in the Bible (both old and new testament). By way of comparison, the 10 Commandments is like the Table of Contents in a book. If you would carefully note the makeup of the verses in the Torah, the 10 Commandments were introduced first followed soon after by the detailed instructions regarding the acceptable way of life. The Jews and only the Jews has thte Mandate to define what the Law is. The Law as defined by them is the TORAH: BERESHEIT, SHEMOT, VAYIKRA, B'MIDBAR, D'VARIM.(GENESIS, EXODUS, LEVITICUS, NUMBERS, DEUTERONOMY)

The Law is written like this so that everybody, especially gentiles will realize the Mandate of the Law is embedded with the life and history of the conregation of Israel. No gentile may have the right to make claim on the Biblical Law. Only Israel has this Mandate. It is for this reason that only Israel can summon Yeshua back to this world, and not gentile prayers. Israel has the eternal covenant with the LORD and Master of the Universe "YOU WILL NOT SEE ME AGAIN UNTIL YOU SAY BARUKH HABA V'SHEM ADONAI"These words is Israel's proclamation of their acceptance of their King and High Priest.

No Christianity before Christ

There was no Christianity before Christ, just as there was no Thatcherism before Thatcher! Jesus was a Jew, but had his own ideas. These ideas were favoured by some and gave birth to a new way of thinking which became named after him.

Jesus never claimed divinity in early scripture. He claimed to be the Messiah which doesn't carry any divine status, it simply means 'king'. Christ was only portrayed as divine in the later re-write of the Bible financed by Constantine who sought to upgrade Jesus' status to aid him in the battle against Judaism, and secure support from a new religious uprising.

So, if Jesus really does rock your world, you would probably benefit from looking at earlier scripture that was not corrupted by the politics of the Roman Empire. But don't take anything spiritual from it, after all - he lived in a time where superstition was all they had.

Personally I find it difficult to put much weight on 'fullfulling phrophesies' when all Jesus had to do was follow a simple checklist of events written down centuries before he was born. Anybody could have been the 'messiah' if they had the conviction and courage to work their way through a simple checklist. Again, it's important to note that Messiah is simply a word meaning 'king' or 'leader', and has no divine status.

Jesus the Messiah

Really in Judaism, they are waiting for a messiah. Jesus was the messiah and therefore completes what they were waiting for. He was the answer and still is the answer.

Jesus was Jewish because he hadn't died for the world's sins yet. He also was trying to lead people away from the old law and lead them to the 10 commandments. Christianity hadn't been created yet, but it branched off from Judaism.

The Mandate of Israel

Yeshua offered salvation to any takers, but only by way of Israel's Mandate. Baptism is not a gentile form of conversion, it is Jewish. The form and context of baptism was usurped by gentiles who tried to possess the Mandate of Israel.

Yeshua was promised to the Congregation of Israel not to the gentiles. His main mission platform here on earth was to redeem Israel. The redemption of the rest of humanity is the by-product of the redemption of Israel, not the other way around. If Yeshua had failed to redeem Israel, the rest of humanity would have been allowed to self-destruct.

To come into the belief of Yeshua, to follow and obey Him, is to come into the Faith of Yeshua. The faith of Yeshua is the Faith of Israel, not the gentile's. The faith of Israel is obedience to the Almighty by way of the perfect observance of the Torah and the forgiveness of one's crimes by the Grace of the almighty. There is no transgression agaisnt the Almighty without the Torah (LAW). Therefore, the Torah has not become obsolete. It has, instead, been enhanced by Yeshua. He did it by proving to His Father in Heaven that the minimum requirements for the Citizenship of His Father's Kingdom can be fulfilled by a human being. This is why He had to come in human form. Israel was failing in the Contract, that humans could ever obey the Torah perfectly. Yeshua proved it otherwise. He confirmed Israel's Covenant.

All who reads this must be carefully aware that the G-d of Israel had made numerous proclamations, treaties, covenants, promises, oaths and statements to, of, by and for Israel. All of the above can only be fulfilled if and only if Israel continues to exist as the other half of the Covenant keepers. If Israel ceases to exist in this form and context, then the G-d of Israel is a liar. This is what s-t-n wants to happen: TO DESTROY THE GLORY OF G-D.

The gentiles have been used by s-t-n to forced Israel to abandon his covenant by attempting to convert Israel into the church, to destroy the Jewry, by trying to destroy Israel's existence, by corrupting, by making them believe that Yeshua belongs to the gentile's, that the covenants no longer belongs to them, that salvation can only be through the church's mandate instead of Israel's, by weakening Israel's resolve through antisemitic and anti-zionist attacks, and simply by making the Jew's life so miserable that giving up the Covenant seems to be the only way out of his hardships. Gentiles have long claimed that doing the "WILL" of the G-D of Israel is through the definitions of the church, instead of Israel's, by which the Father had made the Covenants with.

Yeshua never founded the "church". The EKKLESSIA that he was referring to was the redeemed Congregation of Israel into which all believing gentiles (via Israel's Mandate) is to be engrafted. The church is NOT the Olive Tree! It is Israel. The context of true Christianity is Messianism. Messianism in the Scriptures is not gentile, it is 100% Jewish. (PLS. refer to my earlier input under "The mandate of Israel "). Think Republican and Democratic parties in the U.S.A. True republicanism or democratism (sic) is true Americanism. By becoming a full Republican, you do not disavow America or considers it obsolete.

Likewise, for a Jew, to believe in Yeshua is to become a full fledged "Messianic". A fullfilled citizen of the congregation of Israel. To believe in their own King, High Priest and Prophet. I am a Filipino-Australian, if I tell some Americans in New York that Obama is my President, they would probably tell me BS. I am a foreigner as far as the mandate of America is concerned. I can only make that claimed legit by becoming an American, then and only then can I have a share in the Mandate of America. A gentile who claims Yeshua as his/her Lord, Maschiach/Christ, Redeemer, etc. and at the same time disclaiming Israel in any form, context, definition, legitimacy, and ownerships of Offices, Covenants, Promises and Treaties between their Lord is is like a foreigner making claims on someone else's Mandate of Citizenship. Any gentile cannot make a claim on the Maschiach of Israel outside Israel's Jurisdiction. Yeshua belongs to Israel not the gentile's.

Many gentiles calling, beseeching, or praying for Yeshua to return will never get their wishes and prayers fulfilled. And, yet, in the last days it is the Remnant of Israel that Yeshua will hearken to. It is to them that the so-called RAPTURE was promised, not to the Church's.

By the way, Pentecost is not a church thing, it is actually Jewish. The feast of Shavout is one of the three High Shabbats in which all male Jews are required to congregate and celebrate this Feast in Yerushalayim. Gentiles, though welcome, are not normally present. The Baptism of Fire went down on Jewish Heads not gentiles' as wrongfully claimed by the church. This is one of those promise that G-D had made to Israel as part of their Mandate and Jurisdiction. This is one of the proofs that Yeshua had confirmed Israel's Covenant, Mandate and Offices with their G-D. Proof that Israel had not rejected Yeshua and that G-D had not abandoned Israel.

The New Covenant, therefore, belongs to Israel. If it is not, then why is Yeshua claiming to be the Maschiach of Israel? The Mandate of the Office of the Maschiach of Israel belongs to Israel. Who owns the Mandate of the Office of the Presidency of the U.S.A that Obama has possessed? Kenya? Indonesia?

Colossians 2:14 is about the sentence of death that was hanging over Israel because of their failure to uphold the Torah properly. This verse is not about the revocation of the Torah nor of Israel and his Mandate. Hence, Yeshua's mission to "redeem" Israel. The "us" in this verse refers to Israel. The Tanakh/TORAH is part of this Covenant that Israel is supposed to fulfill. Their side of the Covenant "We accept and We will obey".

Mandate of Israel:

Regarding the opinion that Yeshua never claimed to be Jewish: There was no need to. He was walking, eating, farting, conversing, discussing, debating... in other words living with His fellow Jews. Does Obama have to reinforce on everybody, in very occassion, in every opportionity the fact that he is an American? Yeshua was in the midst of His own.

On the subject of conversion, if, as an Australian, I happen to decide to pledge my Allegiance to President Obama, I would have to apply to be a citizen of USA. My loyalty will shift from Australia to USA. If I am a pagan gentile and I chose to follow and pledge my allegiance to Yeshua; should I create my own congregation and disregard the congregation that was created by the Lord and Master of the Universe HIMSELF? Should I tell Yeshua that the Congregation to whom the Treaty(Covenant), the Prophecies, the Offices, the Law(Constitution), the Promises and the Oaths, the Mandate and the Keys to the Citizenship in Heaven is not acceptable to me and to my fellow gentiles, and that I should have the right to create our own to supplant His own?

If you can imagine what Obama will tell me, then think what Yeshuah, King of the Kingdom of Israel, High Priest of the Congregation of Israel, and Chief Prophet of the Nation of Israel would say to me.

qoute from the Book:

"Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, When I will effect a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah;
9 Not like the covenant which I made with their fathers. On the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt;
For they did not continue in My covenant, and I did not care for them, says the Lord.
10 "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord:
I will put My laws into their minds, and I will write them upon their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
11 "And they shall not teach everyone his fellow citizen, and everyone his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,'
For all shall know Me, From the least to the greatest of them. 12 "For I will be merciful to their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more."

In the Days of Noakh, G-D provided mankind an ARK for his own survival. We are now as in the days of Noakh and G-D had provided us a way out to survive the coming CATACLYSM. He created Israel to serve as the ARK in our own generation. THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH IS NOT THE ARK. Yeshua Himself said as much to the Samaritan woman that salvation is of the Jews.

Not about Conversion but Obedience

God never called his words or his character Judaism(man-made) word for whatever. As I have been reading the Torah I find that God set down rulings and commandments that the House of Isra'el were to observe and the foreigner that was living or wanted to live amongst them. I find that religion is man's excuse or way of not obeying God. God is not a religious God and neither was Yeshua, the Torah was or is a guide for right living, that makes a man or woman right before God. Religion says that it's okay to celebrate Easter and disregard Passover, shameful just shameful. Religion says that we no longer have to honor the Shabbats(sabbaths), that God apponited, but now we worship on the Lord's day (Sunday) which by the way is unbiblical.

Religion is letting a pagan emperor in Constantine take away the Sabbath day and replace it with the so-called and very disrepectful day called Sunday. The same day that the Romans gave honor to their pagan god Mithras(Sun-god). That's why conversion is not from one religion to another, conversion is leaving the life you knew outside of the rulership of God to God becoming the one source for Salvation. Religion changes all the time from on believe structure to another, while God never changes, and never changes the way he wants for us to worship him. Period.

Also, for the Christians who believe that God has rejected Isra'el Please read:

This is what Adonai says, who gives the sun as light for the day, who ordained the laws for the moon and stars to provide light for the night, who stirs up the sea until its waves roar- Adonai -Tzva'ot (Lord God of Host) is His name:

This is what Adonai says: "If the sky above can be measured and the foundations of the earth be fathomed, then I will reject all the offspring of Isra'el for all that they have done, says Adonai. Jeremiah 31: 34-36

It seems that no man has been able to measure the sky in it's fullness and I haven't heard about anyone being able to fathom the earth, then that means that God has not rejected Isra'el, so please get the Replacement Theology out of your minds and hearts. It does not agree with the word of God.

HISTORICALLY JESUS WAS A PHARISAIC JEW AND PROMOTED CONVERSION:

The greater part of Christian history has been eclipsed by a gentile presence. This has contributed to the unfortunate representation of who Jesus was and what he promoted. Some of what I'm about to say may be offensive to some, however, that is only because they have not looked at the scriptures with an open mind. Most people approach the New Testament with an agenda - "a religious ax to grind."

If the New Testament is examined through the lens of a first-century Jew, the internal evidence unquestionably promotes a Pharisaic Judaism. It has been estimated that over ninety-percent of the doctrines promoted by Jesus have parallels in the Talmud - the heir of Pharisaic Judaism. Also, when compared to other Jewish sects mentioned in the New Testament, it is the Pharisaic sect that more aligns with the practice and example of Jesus. His formulation of arguments, quarrels with the Sadducees, belief in angels, reverence and interpretation of Torah are all Pharisaic in nature. One may argue that Jesus, on more than one occasion, rebuked Pharisees for their hypocrisy, but that approach is prejudiced and resolves nothing.

Consider that, of all the Jewish sects in the first century, he only endorsed the Pharisees (Matt 23:2-3). This alone speaks volumes. Also, of all of the Jewish sects, it is overwhelmingly Pharisees that become followers of Jesus. The Jerusalem council is attended by "Pharisees that believed." (Acts 15) Paul and Nicodemus where both Pharisees, and in the gospel of Luke, (Luke 13:31) the Pharisees caution Jesus of Herod's plot to assassinate him. These are just a few examples where Pharisees are presented in a favorable light.

It is clear to me that Jesus promoted Judaism with a Pharisaic patronization. It is for this reason that the Pharisees where so attracted to his movement. Jesus was Jewish, and presumably, a Pharisee. He promoted a Pharisaic Judaism and commanded his disciples to convert gentiles to Judaism.

Be Careful to Define "Judaism"

The Judaism of Jesus's day was not the Judaism of today. Christianity and Judaism parted ways in the first century. Some of Judaism has even consisted of defining itself as that which is not Christian.

Christianity places a great deal of emphasis on the sacrificial aspects of the Judaism of Jesus's day, placing Jesus in the role of ultimate sacrifice. With the destruction of the Temple in 70 CE, the sacrificial aspect of ancient Judaism has been effectively eliminated, substituting a dependence on individual good works (e.g., the Days of Awe between Rosh haShanah and Yom Kippur) for atonement rather than the need for blood sacrifices.

Also, because of the dispersion of the Jewish people into hostile cultures for around 1900 years, Judaism emphasizes the rituals that served to bind the community together. These rituals are not Christian in any sense.

Despite the "churchianity" of today, the basic tenets of Christianity can be followed in most cultures, including the "home" Jewish culture, but there is nothing about Christianity or Jesus's teachings that require one to follow modern Judaism.

Answer

Read read read the Bible and don't believe anything else. Jesus came to fulfill and establish the Law -He was the Lamb of God so that takes care of the sacrifice, and His blood is enough for anyone, but He established the Law by showing us that as a man, a person can indeed keep all the commandments of the Old Testament, and that they are not burdensome to keep, but easy Matt 11:30

So, research the meaning behind Rev. 2:14, who is Baalam and what did try to do?
Link that to Matthew 5:18-19. Keep in mind that just believing in Jesus and trusting Him, His blood is enough for salvation. Then parallel Deut. 30 and Romans 10.
And finally, with an open mind, link all you've read to John 14:15 and 15:10, and Rom. 3:31. Don't get legalistic, just trust that you can with the help of the Holy Spirit.
