Yes, Orochimaru dies. He dies in Shippuden.
When Orochimaru tries to take over Sasuke's body using his Immortal Genjutsu, Sasuke counters it with his Sharingan, and Orochimaru is sealed within Sasuke.
During the battle against Itachi, Orochimaru's spirit is forced out of Sasuke, and Itachi kills it using Susano's power.
After that, Kabuto implant some of Orochimaru's remains into himself, and those parts are trying to take over his body.

Not really...he doesn't really die. Well he does look like hes dead but he comes back because he's in Kabuto. Or whatever, I haven't seen that episode I just know that he's not dead.
