basically, lg,sharp and samsung these 3 only are companies to manufacture panels for lcd tvs. sharp is providing their panels to toshiba, hitachi, akai. lg is giving to panasonic and sony, now a days samsung is not proving panels to anyone. philips and videocon using chinese panels for their lcds. among them sony and sharp are the best for value for money. samsung is experimenting with thier panels.so it is riskier at times to buy samsung tvs.
