ROTC or Reserve Officer Training Corps is a military program to enable college students to complete basic officer training in exchange for money for education. After graduation from college, the young man or woman has a modest military commitment, typically about 6 years of reserve duty. Reserve officers can be assigned to active duty if they are needed by the military, and the officers have very little choice in the matter.
Reserve officers have little or no role in policy making within the military. The military has very little role in determining whether the United States engages in a war.
Therefore, the short answer is NO. ROTC does not cause or start wars. ROTC-trained people may be called upon to serve in wars, but they definitely do not start wars.
Yes, but not at the start of Junior ROTC. College, yes.
there are 2 yr and 3 yr ROTC programs where you would start in the middle of your college and continue to the end
no you will always (out of rotc) start in any branch as a 2nd lieutenant
No. Once you are contracted with ROTC, you cannot be deployed until after you have graduated and received your commission.
Burnig ROTC buildings.
Yes the ROTC building was burnt down because of protesters from Kent State University protesting war.
The Army, because the Army ROTC was at more colleges than the Navy. Texas A&M's ROTC program commissioned 15,000 officers that served in World War 2, more than any other school, including West Point.
No it would not qualify. Membership is based on having earned a service medal associated with supporting the war. Those undergoing ROTC training would not have earned a medal.
teach ROTC
It take 4 weeks sometime during the summer months...there are different "Regiments" and ROTC members start at different dates.
since you owe years of service, possibly...but that depends if the war is still going on by then.
ROTC allows many students to receive education for free in exchange for service to their country. There are many active duty officers that were trained through the programs. ROTC allows a reserve force of officers in case of a war. ROTC makes a bond between rich students at prestigious universities, and allows them to serve in the military without losing on their education.
