First off both Van Impe still are alive and it's June 28, 2011. Secondly, they never had any children, so I do not know who is moving this gossip along.

Yes 2 but they disowned the Van Impes because of their doomsday prophecy and fear mongering. Karen said "my dads a charlatan", Ronald said "my father is a sociopath".
