no. in the end, it makes it seem like the characters will die, but they dont.

The answer above refers,of course, to the anime,in which it is correct.However,the manga is still on-going.As of yet,Soul has not died, but anything can really happen.Honestly,though,the chances for him to die are quite slim,considering he and Maka are the main characters.
