The term "baby" went out in the 60s, and most women never cared for this term and it was sometimes accepted as an insult instead of an affectionate word. On the other hand some people have nicknames for people they care about and perhaps "baby" is the term he's decided to use for you, but highly doubt it. He's sounds a little too fast and forward, so take it slow and easy and remember that you are ALWAYS in control so keep it that way.
