I don't think a narcissist respects anyone at anytime for any reason.

Standing your ground is the beginning of the end for you with him. Being right is the biggest betrayal of all (to him.)

Probably not, but one of the best ways to change a narcissist is teach him respect the hard way... When he will have lost everything he will realize how much his narcissistic ego harmed him, how much he's worth and will see no solution but to learn respect.
