Yes, it is one effective way to kill them. I have a problem with them in my home, and since squishing them releases their odor (which attracts more stink bugs for some reason), spraying them is probably your best bet.

Their shell protects them from many pesticides and other things that would kill normal insects (like Windex or something).

Today, I tried this, and it works:

In a spray bottle, mix Rubbing Alcohol (I used 91% Isopropyl Alcohol) with chopped up/minced mint leaves. I assume the alcohol kills them, and they a repelled by the scent of mint, so that provides a deterrent to them coming back to the area you sprayed.

This method is most effective when you spray them directly on their underbelly. If you spray the shell only, they take a while to die (possibly can survive it?). But if you get their underside with the alcohol spray, they stagger around for 10 seconds then eventually die, usually between 20 and 60 seconds.

Hope this helps

Yes it does work. I just hate those suckers and my dog is terrified by them. They make an inbound sound like a helicopter and my poor baby starts to whimper. Last year I got busy trying to find something I can spray directly on them. Ha!!!! Su
