If you have an allergy to ACE- inhibitors (what lisinipril is) you can usually still take an Angiotensin Recebot Blocker aka ARB (which is what valsartan is). Quite often if you experience a problem with an ACE the doctor will try you on an ARB. More times then not, patients will be able to tolerate an ARB.
