Does anxiety cause high blood pressure such as whenever I take my blood pressure it is high but since Im only 18 could I just be getting anxiety when taking it and getting false readings? |
[Edit] |
Don't fool around. If it's high, get it down. Lose weight. Exercise. See your Dr. for bp lowering drugs. A stroke is not a laughing matter.
--Absolutely anxiety can raise blood pressure. Try sitting and relaxing for at least 5 minutes before checking it in a comfortable place. Anxiety releases adrenaline, which will raise your bp, as will exercise (even though it helps it in the long run). However, if you're calm cool and collected and your bp is still high you should definetely go see your doctor, just to be on the safe side.
