New Wine and Spring Harvest are festivals that cater for the whole family.

I have had more experience of Spring Harvest than New Wine, and these events usually take place in large holiday camps like Butlins. There is a Spring Harvest festival in Butlins Minehead this Easter (just 7 miles from where I live).

Spring Harvest is a festival that incorporates music, worship and teaching. There are always events and groups for small children through to teenagers and young adults as well as old fogies like me. Once you pay the entrance fee, all talks and events are free, and you even have all the facilities ((eg thhe Swimming Pools, snooker halls etc) of the Butlins complex. So, if you want, bring your parents and baby sister and leave them for the day knowing they will be looked after :-). Then do your own thing - and make loads of new friends in the 6-8000 strong group there.

Talks are usually given by national figures - last year Jeff Lucas and Adrian Plass were there, and usually Graham Kendrick pops in too. Other major figures like Stuart Townsend, Steve Chalke and so on regularly attend. Talks are usually outstanding (and often humorous!) and the worship is of a relatively evangelical nature, to reflect the large number of non-conformist Christians there. The exhibition of books and resources is very comprehensive (and there are loads of freebies!). The festival is ecumenical with all denominations from Catholics to Baptists, Anglicans to Methodists all worshipping together.
