Wellbutrin/buproprion can cause appetite changes.  Most people report lower appetite and weight loss (mild to severe.)  There are few rare cases in which people's appetites increase.  Changes in appetite are considered a side effect, and it is not the main purpose of this medication.  This can be a problem with persons having past eating disorders, so any person having a past eating disorder not documented in medical records should inform their physician while receiving this medication so the appetite can be monitored more closely.
