Does homeowner's insurance cover laptop theft?

Answer

Personal property is covered from theft, no matter what it is. There are special limits of liability which may apply, for example if your laptop is used for business purposes, or if it is business property and was stolen AWAY from the residence premises. You will have to refer to the "Personal Property" section of your policy.

Be aware that theft claims have a negative effect on your claims experience. Several claims of this type may result in non-renewal of your policy.
