no the test nowadays can tell the difference between all opiates. ie. methadone(Diskets, Dolophine, Methadose). hydrocodone(lortab, lorcet, vicoden, norco, vicoprofen). oxycodone(OxyContin,Roxicodone,Percocet,Percodan,Endocet). morphine(Avinza, Kadian, MS Contin, MSIR, Oramorph SR, Roxanol). hydromorphone(Dilaudid, Hydrostat, Palladone) and others not even worth mentioning

absolutely not. oxycodone HCL (oxycontin) is controlled release morphine. your tox screen will come back positive for morphine. hydrocodone is a morphine derivitive, but will read as a general opiet. oxycodone immediate realease has more morphine base than hydrocodone, and that still will just read as an opiet. oxycontin is mainly sustained release morphine, just like opana. and if youve noticed the difference between the old abusable oxycontin and the new non abusable oxycontin, the old ones read 'oc'. the new ones read 'op'. purdue merged with merck and combined oxycnotin and opana morphine to make the longer lasting effect of opana (12 hours) and the more pain relieving effect of oxycontin. but it is an indestructible pill and cannot be taken other than orally. and by the way guys, foood for thought: when oxycontin was abusable, doctors prescribed it like candy. once it became a form that addicts no longer wanted, doctos stopped prescribing it. its safe now! doesnt anyone see something wrong with the way doctors think? ad while im on the subject, the three medications im convinced were made for addicts and i could back it up with so many reasons:oxycontin, xanax, and Adderall. and its obvious. and doctors hand out xanax first of all benzos and adderall first of all stimulants. thats just messed up! are doctors oblivious? i didnt go through 8-12 years of college and i can realize why and how these companies invented these medications for the poor and addicted. im disgusted with doctors. and yes folks i know i transjectured from the original question and for those i annoyed, i apologize. good luck to all!

They do NOT show up the same on a urine test. Initially, in an in-office surprise test you will pass, being positive for "opiates" only. However, when the MD sends the test out to a lab after that, the lab tests break down the opiates further and can tell you how much vicodin is in your system AND how much oxycodone is in your system. Take note of this, especially if you are prescribed vicodin only and have taken percocet or oxycodone, and vice-versa!

No! They do not show up as the same thing! They are two different drugs and shows up as that! Not allot of regular drug test for Hydrocodone but do test for Oxycodone. Percocet and Oxycontin show up as the same thing!

No, they don't. Hydrocodone and Oxycodone are two completely different drugs and believe it or not, Oxycodone shows up on its own in a drug test. Depending on how accurate the drug test is and what it tests for specifically will say if it specifically tests for Hydrocodone. Nine times out of ten, a normal drug test will show Oxycodone on its own. For Hydrocodone, it will show up as an "opiate" in your drug test.

they both show up as opiates but if the test is sent to a lab they can easily tell which of the two you have taken.

yes, both are members of the opioid class and will show up on a drug test. A confirmation will allow them to distinguish between the two.

How many oxycodone can you take before it sHow is up in urine test?

"ANY oxycodone (the generic term for Vicodin) will show up in a drug test." The persom who posted this answer is only 1/2 but VERY wrong! Oxycodone is not the generic for Vicone. Oxycodone is a completley different drug and is much stronger than vicodin. Vicodin is made of hydrocodone. Hydrocodone and oxycodone will NOT show up as the same drug. Yes any amount of oxycodone will show up for at leat 3-4 days after taking just one pill.

If you are precribed hydrocodone and take 1 10mg oxycodone and have a urine test in a week can the oxycodone show up or will it show up same as hydrocodone?

"Hydrocodone and Oxycodone are from the same family "OPIATES". Your urine test, if broad, will show up as positive for opiates and if it is for legal reasons, like probation, they usually will order a more in-depth test to distinguish between Hydrocodone (Class 3 scheduled drug) and Oxycodone (Class 2 Schedule Drug). Same answer from someone else below:... Actually it depends on the test. A simple home test will only show opiates, a better test will show a difference between the two drugs.

Will oxycodone and hydrocodone show up as the same thing on a drug test?

it will come up the same because they are both opiots Wrong... you will test positive for opiates, however, the test I take test for many drugs including hydrocodone (vicodin) and oxycodone (percocet, roxicodone) and they show up as different drugs. If you have been taking vicodin you will test positive for hydrocodone, if you have been taking percocet you will test positive for oxycodone. It also depends on how specific your drug test is.

Will 7.5 hydrocodone and 5-500 hydrocodone show up as the same in drug test?

Yes. They are the same drug but different strengths.

Does Hydrocodone and some show the same in drug test?

I'm not too sure I understand your question but I'll try to answer it to the best of my ability. if you take Hydrocodone or vicodin whatever on your drug test it will show Hydrocodone and a number say 100 and positive also for Hydromorphone but it will be a much smaller number say 10 same with Oxycodone and Oxymorphone and Codiene and Morphine This is because the liver enzimes convert some but not all Hydrocodone to Hydromorphone which is a much stronger chemical Oxycodone is converted to Oxymorphone and Codiene is converted to Morphine. Hope this helps somewhat.

Will hydrocodone and oxyocdone show up the same in urine?

No. Hydrocodone and Oxycodone are two different narcotic analgesics. Oxycodone usually shows up by itself. It's usually tested for specifically. Where as Hydrocodone will usually show up as an "opiate" but not specifically Hydrocodone.

Does hydrocodone and vicodin show up the same is blood work?

No there not the same! Hydrocodone is a drug called Hycodan, and Vicodin is a drug called Valium.

Will oxy contin look like hydro codone on a drug test?

Yes, both drugs will show up under "opiates". *to answer the actual question, if oxycodone and hydrocodone metabolites are even tested for (these do not show up on the typical "opiate" panel of a drug test, morphine, heroin, and codeine is what shows up when tested for "opiates", oxy and hyrdo are separate tests and must be requested by the person requesting the drug test) IF hyrdocodone and oxycodone (OxyContin) are tested for they will not show up as the same thing, oxycodone and oxymorphone metabolites will show up if you've used oxycodone; hydrocodone and hydromorphone metabolites will show up if you've used hyrdrocodone.*
