Does ice help coldsores

It does not help coldsores. In fact the other day some lady at the pharmacy counter said that ice helps but yet it didnt help. So when I got home I put ice on my lip. The next morning it got bigger. So do not use ice. Ever. Abreva works but only if you feel one starting to come on. But that's what she said.

Putting ice on a bruise will not make it heal. There are several factors to consider here.

First, if the bruise has just happened, then putting ice on it helps to reduce the swelling, but it absolutely does not cause the bruise to heal faster.

A bruise is removed by blood flow, and when the blood flow is reduced or impeded, as when ice is applied, the time it takes for the bruise to heal is lengthened. Many people subscribe to ice applications for the first twenty-four hours (to reduce swelling), then heat applications thereafter to increase blood circulation and speed up the healing process.

You can, if you do put on for 5 mins then take of for about 10-15 mins and repeat it. But it also depends on the irritation, you might need to seek medical advice.

If you have a burn, absolutely not. If you get a burn the best thing to do is run under cold water and if needed, seek medical treatment.

It doesn't necessarly get rid of it. it just simply numbs the sore

Ice use will help the tingling and pain, and will help contain the spread of the sore(s).
