Everything that is in this World is made of some sort of matter. Weather it be gas, solid or fluid, everything takes up space in this world. Some maybe lighter or heavier than others but everything has a weight or takes up space. There is not a spot in this world that isn't filled with something.

Mass is the defining characteristic of matter. However, the ultimate reason why matter has mass remains under debate and investigation by scientists. Some nuclear physicists believe that all mass depends upon a particle called the Higgs boson. But this has not been definitely confirmed.

Yes, all matter has mass.

The only exception is the photon which has mass when moving but a zero mass at rest.

By definition, matter is that which has mass.

Investigate the Higgs Boson and you may find a satisfactory albeit theoretical answer.
