I tried this, the vinegar did kill them, wet your hair in the vinegar and leave a shower cap on for couple of hours, not only did it kill them, the nits dislodged and came off into the comb very easly
Not that I know of. When I had head lice I tried every medication out there like Nix, and all that, but it didn't work. If you want to get rid of them, put mayonnaise in your hair, and put on a shower cap. Leave it on for 2-3 hours, and then rinse and comb your hair thoroughly. You'll find that all white eggs have turned brown, and you might even find dead adult bugs. The mayo suffocates the lice.

Depending on your child's age or gender you can perm the child's hair just to be safe because perm's have a chemical to kill the eggs.
Vinegar loosens the glue on the nits to help get them out of your hair.
No. Oil, or mayo, crisco, etc., will immobilize the live lice and left on for 2 hours will smother them; however, you must thereafter comb/pick them out, plus their nits/eggs. You must remove EVERY egg, or the viable ones can hatch and reinfest. Vinegar AFTER can help to loosen the nits, which are stuck to the individual hairs, but the vinegar doesn't kill the eggs either. You must manually remove the eggs with a comb or by picking them off with your hands.
oils or oily substances or so says the internet one link said if you put Vaseline or oil in your hair it will suffocate the lice. but be forewarned oil is hard to get out of your hair!!!! :P good luck...
yes, i used tea tree oil, mayonaise and vinegar all mixed together.. it worked wonders..
No.
corn oil
no, you need a special shampoo to kill lice.
No. Shampoo does not kill lice. Lice and their eggs (nits) need to be manually removed and you need to use some kind of insecticide to actually kill the lice and nits.Go tohttp://www.head-lice-treatment-information.comfor pictures and an understanding of the life cycle of head lice. They also can direct you to a safe non toxic head lice treatment that is actually a natural insecticide that is bad for lice but safe for humans.
Not necessarily. You will need to use lice killing shampoo and pick out the lice with a comb.
No, they will have a nice swim. You need a shampoo made for lice.
well i believe i might have lice my child came back from school with lice and im treating her with lice shampoo. but my hair is bleached and i have to treat my roots. now i cant go to the salon to get it done cuz its embarrassing so i will have my mother bleach my hair..anyway i will let you know if it does kill them..
you rub it on the scalp and let it sit for 10 min and then wash it off and apply the shampoo
As long as they have hair, men can get head lice. Head lice have the ability to appear on anyone who has hair, whether it be a child, man, or woman. If you do get lice, purchase "Lice Hero" to get rid of them. You will need to use the shampoo and then comb out the lice eggs to prevent more from hatching.
No. You need a product made specifically for killing the lice, and you need to wash ALL bed linens, hats, scarves, etc., in very hot water to prevent reinfestation. Run your pillows (and things that can't be washed) through the dryer on high heat for at least 45 minutes to kill the lice. For items that can't be washed or run through a hot dryer, hang them on a clothes line in the hot sun for several hours.
if you have straight silky hair you need to wash your hair at least every 2 days so your hair is not too clean or too dirty lice like clean and dirty hair LICE ARE GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One method is to wash your hair with plenty of conditioner, and then drag a lice comb through your hair. This should remove living lice, and most if not all eggs. Another method is to go to a chemist and ask them for something to ger rid of lice eggs. It is nothing to be embarrassed about, as it is a common problem. Follow the instructions on the medication they give you.
Neither will kill lice. You need to go to the store and buy the shampoo that is made for lice. Follow the directions. You also need to strip your bed and wash the sheets, clean combs and brushes, disinfect hats and other clothing. The lice can reinfect you if you don't do this.
I dunno, but I honesty wouldn't try!Chlorine from a swimming pool will not kill lice. They can shut down their respiratory system for over 10 hours. If you put chlorine on your childs hair it isn't safe! You are much better off to put conditioner and olive oil to the head to suffocate the live lice. Then you can immobilize them and comb them out. One doesn't need harsh chemicals to kill lice. They need to be suffocated by something thick, then combed out!All nits must be removed as well or lice will return!www.myhairhelpers.comI'm not sure, but if it does, it would be needed in high concentration which would damage the hair. I read in ascientific journal that blow-dryin your hair can kill lice by drying them up...it might but it will damage your hairYes chlorine can kill the head lice and can even corrode the hairsNo it doesn't. It's probably possible that chlorine could kill lice, but it would have to be in such high concentrations that it would seriously hurt a human. And, unfortunately, lice can hold their breath in water so you can't really drown them either.Well, for one, it depends on how long you are in that pool. If you hang out in that pool for 3 hours, they most likely already drowned. Chlorine itself can kill lice eggs, and lice, but then again, the amount of diluted chlorine in pools, mixed with other chemicals, just leads to only a few actually dying. There isn't enough chlorine in standardized american pools to kill lice.Yes it could because chlorine is to strong for them to handle so eventually they will die.Chlorine from pools will NOT kill lice bugs but it can kill the nits, the lice eggs, because the chemicals are too much pressure so they'll never hatch and die. But the lice will still live.
